Interlock rule list

The topological interlock checks a command on the network as it would be after the command. For how the check works, see Topological interlocking; to change the levels, see Set the interlock rules.

Rules

IdLabelDefaultChecks
earthLiveEnergizing onto earthUnlockableClosing joins an earthed section to an energized or undefined one; the result has a section that is both energized and earthed; an earthing switch is closed while a measurement on the section does not say "no voltage".
undefinedAreaSwitching in an undefined areaUnlockableClosing with both sides undefined.
disconnectorLoadDisconnector under loadUnlockableA disconnector is closed or opened while load current would flow.
unsuppliedLoadDevice loses supplyDo not checkAn opening leaves a supplied consumer without supply. In practice disconnector, earthing switch and second-position openings, because opening a breaker skips all rules.
undefinedGrowsUndefined area growsUnlockableClosing with one side undefined and the other side not.
joinNetworksJoining different networksLockedAfter closing, two different sources certainly reach one section.
voltageMixJoining different voltage levelsLockedClosing certainly joins sections of different nominal voltage, or AC and DC.
possibleJoinPossible joinUnlockableAfter closing, a join of different networks or voltage levels is possible because a position is not certain. Never stricter than joinNetworks or voltageMix: a kind whose rule is Do not check is not checked.

Levels: Do not check (not evaluated), Unlockable (blocked; an authorised user may override it for one command), Locked (blocked; no override).

Internal locks

These always apply, cannot be switched off and cannot be overridden.

LockText shown
Position unknown: intermediate, invalid, bad quality or awaitedPosition unknown: no command possible
Already in the requested positionAlready closed, Already open
Closing while trippedTripped by protection: reset the trip first
Truck movement while the breaker is closedThe truck cannot be moved while the breaker is closed
Local controlIn local control: no remote command possible
Local / remote unknownControl location (local / remote) unknown: no command possible
Invalid symbol definitionSymbol definition is invalid: cannot be opened / closed
Device state cannot be readDevice state could not be read: interlocks could not be checked
Device not in the networkDevice is not in the electrical network: topological interlocks could not be checked

Exception: opening a load-breaking switch

Opening a circuit breaker, load break switch, contactor or the main position of an ATS is never blocked by a rule or by Position unknown. Only In local control, Control location (local / remote) unknown, Already open (when the position is certainly open) and an invalid symbol definition still apply.
