Start YTCC with Windows
YTCC starts in the background every time the server starts, before anyone signs in to Windows. The setup program installs it as a Windows service for this; there is nothing to register. This page shows where to find the service and how to stop and start it.
Before you begin
- YTCC is installed with the setup program.
- You can approve administrator rights on the server.
Steps
1. Find the YTCC service
Press the Windows key, type services and open Services. The service of the version line is listed as YTCC v15
for the line 1.5. Its Startup Type is Automatic and it runs as Local System.
The service starts after the PostgreSQL service postgresql-x64-18. If YTCC ends with an error, Windows restarts the
service after 10 seconds.
2. Stop or start YTCC
Select YTCC v15 and click Stop or Start above the list, or right-click it. Windows asks for administrator rights. Stopping takes up to about one and a half minutes; while YTCC is stopped, there is no field monitoring and the interface does not open.
Do not change the Startup Type: with Manual or Disabled, YTCC no longer starts with Windows.
3. Check after a restart
Restart the server, sign in and open the interface with the shortcut: the project that was started last runs again with its drivers. It started with the service, before you signed in. See Start, stop and restart a project.
Result
YTCC starts with Windows as the service YTCC v15, and the shortcuts YTCC v15 (Edge) and YTCC v15 (Chrome) open the interface.
Good to know
- Each version line has its own service, for example YTCC v15 and YTCC v16. Only one project runs on the computer at a time; see One project per computer.
- The service writes its own log to
logs\ytcc-service.login the installation folder.
